Can`t enter bios settings menu

Hi,
I have a Nas PC, (MSI H61M-P20(G3) motherboard, an Intel i3-3220, 6GB DDR3 RAM, Two 1TB WD HDD and a 16GB Pendrive for the OS, and using the integrated gpu) which had OpenMediaVault installed to it. Yesterday i purchased a TP-Link TG-3468 gigabit PCIE card. I shut down the pc, put in the card, when i turned it on, gone into the bios settings and disabled the onboard lan. After that, when I started my computer it won[ICODE]t boot back into OMV. The boot screen says, "Press F11 to enter Boot menu / Press Del to enter Bios setup" And if I press F11, it[/ICODE]s not doing anything, except the CPU fan starts to spin faster. If I press the Del, it says, “Entering Bios Settings . . .” but not doing anything (except CPU fan spinning faster, I waited 30 minutes, but nothing ). I tried with all the devices unplugged, with and without the new gigabit card. Checked all the connectors, the ram (put it in another pc, and it worked). Tried with unplugged HDDs. I reseted the cmos, tried another CR2032 battery but still nothing. I hope You guys can help me. Thanks, and sorry If i have language mistakes in my post.

You took out the TP-Link card and tried booting into BIOS mode correct? According to your post it seems like you have but I’m not 100% sure. If it was working before you put it in, the card might’ve messed something up.

First time, i put it in, and entered into the bios settings, disabled the integrated network port, and clicked on “Save changes and reboot”. After that, it won`t pass the post screen.

It seems like you messed with something and now it can’t boot from the Hard Drive. If you don’t touch it, does it boot into Windows?

EDIT: I see you’re using a USB drive for the OS. May I ask why you don’t have an OS installed on the local HD?

Does it boot normally?

I press the power switch, it shows this screen (in the picture above), and if I press the F1/F2 nothing happens. Tried with PS2 and USB keyboard, and several usb ports.

It seems like you messed with something and now it can’t boot from the Hard Drive. If you don’t touch it, does it boot into Windows?

Nas OS-s often run from Usb sticks (as I know). I also tried insert a bootable windows disk, but still the same.

A couple questions:

1.) What is this computer used for?
2.) What devices do you have in the computer?
3.) Were you experiencing any issues before all this happened?

These questions are just to get a better understanding of the computer itself

I’m going to tag @phillpower2 and @Rustys to assist me with this, as I don’t use NAS systems that much. Having more eyes on this is better than my tired old eyes lol.

A quick check. Note that this will erase any and all BIOS modifications.

I tried that before, and also tried with a new battery. What happened is before, plus one line says “All settings were reset to default values.” And the press F1 to continue F2 tobios settings. F1->nothing happens F2->in the left bottom corner it says “Entering Bios . . .”, but not doing anything.

Then it’s a motherboard fault. According to my research, the motherboard is 5 years old. Unfortunately sometimes a motherboard goes early. I’ve had dozens go at 1 year.

If you’ve cleared CMOS, tried everything and even tried booting with absolutely no devices attached, then it’s a motherboard fault and nothing but a new one will fix it. Not being able to get into BIOS is a very bad sign.

Before we rule the motherboard out, let’s get some second opinions first

Thanks, well, ok then. Also my future plans was getting a m-ITX board, to put everything in a small form fatcor. Thanks for the help.

If you’re going to get a new board, stick with a LGA 1155 socket.
